Buying a Skylantern Roof Lantern

  • How much does a bespoke roof lantern cost?

    Stock Skylanterns start at £922 inc VAT, for a 1000 × 1000mm Square lantern. Bespoke lanterns are priced on application, because the price depends on the size, style, colour, glazing and any vents you choose. Send us your outside kerb dimensions, and we’ll come back with a fixed price and a drawing. If your kerb isn’t built yet, sizing it to a stock lantern is usually the cheaper option.

  • How long does a bespoke roof lantern take?

    Stock-size Skylanterns are dispatched in around 7–10 days. Bespoke lanterns are made to order: allow around 2 weeks or more for a stock colour, or around 4 weeks or more for a RAL colour, plus delivery. We’ll confirm the lead time with your quote.

  • How do I measure for a roof lantern?

    Measure the outside of the finished kerb (the upstand), not the hole in the ceiling. The lantern sits on top of the kerb, so its size is the kerb’s external width × length. Measuring the internal opening is the most common ordering mistake. If the kerb isn’t built yet, ask your builder to form it to one of our stock sizes.

  • Can a Skylantern open for ventilation?

    Yes, on a bespoke Skylantern. You can add a manual or electric opening vent, so the lantern brings in fresh air as well as light. The stock sizes sold online don’t have a vent option, so if you need ventilation, choose the bespoke route and tell us how many vents you’d like.

  • What glazing options are there on a Skylantern roof lantern?

    Every Skylantern comes with toughened, self-cleaning Blue or Neutral solar glass as standard. Bespoke lanterns can be upgraded to:

    • triple glazing for extra warmth
    • solar-control glass to cut glare and overheating
    • acoustic or privacy glass

    Laminated glass isn’t available on this range.
